LW is a beautiful girl. She is happy, well-adjusted, and active. She has always hated her nose, and is quite shy of her nose. She presented to Dr. Athre since one of Dr. Athre's physician colleagues is friends with the patient's mother. Dr. Athre had a long consultation with the patient and her mother. The patient was shy at first, but really opened up. She just didn't feel that her nose was in proportion with her face. On more careful analysis, Dr. Athre found that the problem was not only that the patient had a large nose, but the patient also had a recessed chin. This combination made the patient's nose actually look larger than it was. The patient also had a deviated septum and crooked nasal bones. After additional consultations, the patient underwent an open rhinoplasty and a chin augmentation under general anesthesia. Her procedure was performed at the Kobayashi Surgery Center in Webster, even though the patient went to school in Louisiana. The patient did well with her procedure and is shown here 4 weeks after surgery. You see the physical transformation, but you really should see what this has done for her self-esteem and her social skills. She really is the life of the party!

The procedure took about 2 hours and she went home the same day. Here she is shown 3 months following rhinoplasty

C is an active, happy-go-lucky young woman who had undergone a rhinoplasty with another surgeon. She was very unhappy with the results. Her nasal tip was twisted and she had a significantly crooked nose after surgery. This whole experience upset and depressed C because she was a beautiful girl, she wanted a minor refinement, and now she was looking at a revision surgery. Furthermore, her twisted nose seemed to simply draw all the attention on her face. C underwent a complex revision rhinoplasty. Her procedure took almost 5 hours. She underwent the procedure with no problems and is shown here 3 weeks after surgery. She is LOVING her new nose and is extremely happy. She stated that even her mother-in-law who is a stickler for perfection stated that her nose is awesome!

A is a lovely patient who unfortunately developed a septal perforation. A septal perforation is a hole through and through the middle septum of the nose. It can result from many causes including infection, trauma, etc. The septal perforation can cause nasal airway obstruction, collapse of the nose, whistling etc. A wanted her perforation fixed and wanted a narrower, more refined nose. A careful analysis of A's problems as well as the anatomy of her nose was performed. After an in-depth analysis and examination, A underwent a complex nasal reconstruction with ear cartilage and a structural PDS plate to fix the septal defect. At the same time, she underwent a rhinoplasty to refine her nose. The procedure took approximately 4 hours at the Kobayashi Surgical Center. A stated that she had searched all over Houston for a plastic surgeon capable of of fixing her nose. She found Dr. Athre and was very happy with him and all of his office staff. She is shown here 2 weeks after surgery. Her nose is healing beautifully. She still has a significant amount of swelling, but, one can clearly see that her nose is far more refined and narrowed. Her septal perforation repair also completely worked, and A is very happy with the results.

A is a referral to our practice from a fellow physician. A referral from a fellow physician is the highest form of honor because a fellow physician has though high enough of Dr. Athre as a doctor to refer him a friend. A's wants were very simple. The tip of her nose was too wide on photographs. she wanted a little more tip definition and a smoother bridge to her nose. She underwent a primary rhinoplasty with Dr. Athre at the Kobayashi Surgical Center. She is shown 2 weeks after surgery. Her tip refinement is clearly visible, but it will continue to improve over the next 3-4 months.

S is a lovely young woman who just finished college and is at her first job. She has never been happy with her nose, and feels like her nose just doesn't fit her. She has some Middle-Eastern heritage, and she wants a nose that is proportionate to her face, but still respects her cultural identity and heritage. She had very realistic expectations, and had done an extensive amount of research with respect to finding the perfect surgeon. S interviewed multiple plastic surgeons in the Houston area before coming to Athre Surgical Asssociates. She actually consulted with Dr. Athre on a weekend because that was the only time she had available to initially meet him. After her initial consultation, she chose to have her procedure with Dr. Athre at the Kobayashi Surgical Center in Clear Lake in southeast Houston. S had an open rhinoplasty with septoplasty because she had a deviated septum as well. She is shown here 2 weeks after surgery.

LG has been battling nasal airway obstruction for as long as she can remember. She is a runner is her spare time, and she cannot remember the last time that she actually breathed out of her nose. She was frustrated, and just wanted to BREATHE. She met with Dr. Athre to discuss her problems. During her consultation, she was found to have a deviated septum and a previous nasal fracture. These two issues were severely impeding her nasal airflow. As an Aside, she did not like the hump on her nose. She decided to undergo rhinoplasty with Dr. Athre. She had her surgery under general anesthesia without any problems. She returned to work a few days later. She followed-up with Dr. Athre 5 days after surgery to have her nasal dressings removed. She took that first breathe, and all she could do is smile. She is shown 3 weeks after surgery here. Enjoy that nasal breathing!!

JH is an energetic young man who just graduated from college. Dr. Athre met JH for the first time when JH was a senior in college. He setup a consultation with Dr. Athre to discuss rhinoplasty. JH had always been concerned with his nose. He did not like the overall shape of his nose. He felt that his nose was too big for her face and lacked definition. After evaluating JH, Dr. Athre immediately recognized that JH's chin was deficient. After a thorough consultation, Dr. Athre recommended a reduction rhinoplasty with a chin augmentation. JH contemplated the whole plan and decided to undergo his procedure right after he graduated from college. He underwent his procedure at the Kobayashi Surgical Center under general anesthesia. His whole surgery took about 3 hours. He is shown here 1 week after surgery. His nose is still swollen, but he is thrilled. JH since has called and let Dr. Athre know that his swelling has come down and he know finally feels that his nose fits his face. He also feels like his new chin is so natural that it has become a part of him. He doesn't think about it or even feel it.

KR is a lovely patient who unfortunately developed a skin cancer on her nose. She underwent Moh's surgery to remove the cancer in Houston, TX and was referred to Dr. Athre to reconstruct her nose. After Dr. Athre evaluated her, he decided that she would be a prime candidate to undergo his new rhinoplasty/reconstruction procedure. Earlier procedures to reconstruct skin defects of the nose involved large, unsightly skin flaps. Dr. Athre has developed a procedure that utilizes his rhinoplasty expertise. He completes a reduction rhinoplasty (making the nose smaller) to reconstruct the skin defect and repair any septal deviation, etc. Here she is before reconstruction and 1 week after surgery. WOW!

S is a lovely 21 year old who was just not happy with her nose. She had always dreamed of having a nose that just matched the proportions of her face. She had very realistic expectations, and had done an extensive amount of research with respect to finding the perfect surgeon. S interviewed multiple plastic surgeons in the Houston area before coming to Athre Facial Plastics. After her initial interview, she had two subsequent consultations where ever possible permutation and nuance of her nose was computer-imaged. Dr. Athre and the patient came up with a nasal profile that simply framed her face beautifully and just brought her eyes out. Incidentally, the patient had a deviated septum which was also corrected at the time of surgery. The patient underwent an open rhinoplasty. Following surgery, she returned for splint removal at the one week point after surgery. The patient did state that her first week after surgery was a bit tough because she had to breathe only through her mouth. In the pictures below, she is shown two weeks after surgery. She is still swollen since nasal surgery takes months for the swelling to completely resolve. However, a small glimpse of her final result can be seen, and S is THRILLED!
