About Microneedling

Microneedling involves a specialized instrument that gently pierces the top surface of the skin in order to trigger the growth of new collagen. The controlled injury of the face essentially refreshes the facial surface and helps you achieve a clear, calm, and youthful appearance.

These small punctures made in the skin can also serve as micro-channels, allowing topical medications such as Vitamin C or Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) to enter into the deeper layers of the skin to further enhance the regenerative effect. PRP is the non-cellular component of your blood which contains numerous growth factors and proteins that can kick-start the regeneration effect of tired skin. Any area of the body can be microneedled.

Microneedling Procedure

Microneedling is a simple, fast procedure that can even be done during your lunch hour.

First, a local anesthetic cream is spread all over the face. Following this, a specialized instrument is used to make extremely tiny holes in the surface of the skin, causing new collagen to grow and regenerate.

Topical medications such as Vitamin C or PRP are then administered to the skin in order to penetrate the deeper layers and enhance the impact of the procedure.

Microneedling Recovery and Results

Redness and irritation should decrease after the initial 48 hours after your treatment, and healing under the surface of the skin should be completed after 2 months. Patients may experience some discomfort, tightness, and itchiness during the healing process.

Microneedling sessions can be repeated every four to six weeks until you see your desired results.
