Case #7691
Reason for Consultation: The patient desired a more refined nasal tip. She felt that her nasal tip was too fat, too bulbous. Her history is significant for two prior rhinoplasties, a primary rhinoplasty, as well as a revision rhinoplasty with her own rib cartilage. During the first rhinoplasty, the patient had a small hump that she wanted removed and a more defined nasal tip. The results from the first surgery resulted in a crooked nose, inadequate support of the nose, and poor tip definition. The patient underwent a primary revision in order to correct these issues. Her primary problems with the results of the first revision rhinoplasty was that it did not make her nose feminine enough. The width at the base of the nasal bones was too wide. Furthermore, her tip was too bulbous. She underwent a secondary revision rhinoplasty by Dr. Athre. She is thrilled with her new nose!
Procedure: Revision rhinoplasty reutilizing prior autologous rib cartilage, and using cadaveric rib cartilage
